it will give you some info but you will have to pay for the rest
If it’s worth finding out, it’s worth paying for. Chances are the number is unlisted, and you will not be able to successfully do a reverse look up even if you do pay. My suggestion is to try something else.
if you use whitepages.com, it only works if it’s a landline, if it’s a cellphone number, it will only tell you who the provider is. If you want to do a reverse phone search on a cellphone number, you are probably going to have to pay for it, but it might be worth it.
If its a local number, another good source is your local library. Most of them have books with reverse look up. Since the information is collected door to door by employees of the company that prints the books, it will quite often provide unlisted numbers if the residents gave them out during the survey.
